My UNA Stream Doctor

Stream Doctor diagnoses UNA Stream configuration and integrity. Version 0.1.5 adds administrator-only OME Stream control and a consistent Studio interface with one native module menu.

Requirements and installation

Use a package compatible with your UNA and Stream versions. The initial tested Stream reference is 15.0.3. Keep a site/database backup and install through UNA Studio using the supplied package.

A site with Stream unconfigured can still show useful missing-configuration findings. OME controls require the appropriate existing OvenMediaEngine setup and supported module version.

Configuration scan

Open Stream Doctor in Studio. The local scan checks registration, required files, engine choice, hostname/application syntax, HTTPS, PHP requirements and engine-specific settings.

  • OK: the named configuration check passed.
  • WARNING: review the setup or evidence.
  • ERROR: a required component is missing or invalid.
  • INFO: context.
  • NOT TESTED: separate verification is needed.

A green scan does not prove that broadcasting and playback work.

Connectivity and integrity

Connectivity preflight is a separate administrator-triggered check. It may test the configured endpoints using DNS, TCP and TLS. It is not a broadcast or playback test.

Data Integrity checks native Stream tables, registrations, orphan counts and supported state/counter relationships. It does not start a stream or alter records.

Repair Preview calculates proposed changes for supported categories. It is read-only; it does not execute a repair. Lifetime views cannot reliably be rebuilt from pruned view-tracking history. Stream and recording-queue states can require manual review.

OME Stream control in 0.1.5

  1. Choose the two existing UNA Stream posts to compare.
  2. Review each post's native RTMP settings. Signed keys remain masked.
  3. Check OME recording state.
  4. Deliberately start or stop a manual OME recording only when intended.

OME API credentials stay server-side. Manual OME recordings are separate from UNA's recording library and queue; they are not automatically imported as UNA recordings.

Limits and troubleshooting

A normal configuration scan does not modify OME, Stream settings, DNS, firewall, TLS or visibility. Repairs and server setup changes are separate work.

For connectivity failures, review the configured endpoint and the reported DNS/TCP/TLS result. For integrity findings, preserve the report and review native data relationships rather than deleting rows to clear a count.
