Mail Doctor is an email-health companion to UNA's existing SMTP Mailer. It separates transport problems from recipient problems, inspects bounce evidence and manages a suppression ledger in supported versions.
Use the standard installation/update workflow. The module folder is modules/newton/my_una_mail_doctor/. Open its Studio tile.
The installed interface includes Overview, Email Health, SMTP Transport, Bounce Mailbox, Events and Configuration.
UNA SMTP Mailer remains the outbound transport. Configure and test that transport in UNA; adding Mail Doctor does not replace it.
Password/app-password IMAP and Microsoft delegated OAuth are separate modes. Microsoft OAuth uses an Entra public-client application and device-code authorization. Use the account belonging to the intended tenant and mailbox. Do not paste a Microsoft client secret into the delegated OAuth configuration.
Microsoft read-only IMAP uses outlook.office365.com:993 with TLS validation. Connection failure may involve the app configuration, account/tenant selection, mailbox permissions or IMAP availability; inspect the reported reason.
Review observed addresses, health states, timestamps and event sources. Machine-readable DSNs are classified as hard, soft, policy, positive or unknown outcomes. Duplicate observations should not create duplicate downstream changes.
Supported versions let administrators Suppress or Release an address. Suppression affects outbound email delivery, while on-site and push notifications remain separate. Existing versions do not automatically change UNA account/profile verification.
Version 0.5 introduced queue and bulk-management features. Later recovery workflows are version-dependent; use only controls documented for the package actually installed.
Release suppression only after reviewing the evidence and correcting the underlying issue. Keep the audit trail.
Mailbox inspection is read-only: it does not mark, move, delete or expunge messages. DSN scanning reads the machine-readable delivery-status section without importing the original message body. Credential material is encrypted; preserve the module's private vault key when planning recovery.
Use SMTP Transport for authentication or delivery-transport problems, Bounce Mailbox for IMAP/OAuth problems and Events/Email Health for recipient failures. Never include passwords, OAuth tokens, certificates' private keys or raw mailbox messages in a public support report.
